Renovation!

Renovation coming soon

http://lamortgageteam.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/renovate-in-recession-2.jpg

As you all know we will be undergoing some renovations in the office area/recreational area.

This renovation will include:
-office renovation
-extending the front pool and adding new furniture
-a fitness facility
-a new internet cafe
-updated laundry facilities

We are very excited about all of these upcoming changes and hope that you are too. There will be a transition time where we will be running the office through the model home for a brief period of time. This will hopefully only be until shortly after the new year. We look forward to having a new and improved property and hope that you are too!

We at Sierra Vista would like to thank you for being so patient with our transition into management. We know how hard it can be changing policies, procedures, and getting used to a new office staff. Luckily we really and truly care about your input and feedback. If you ever have a complaint or are unhappy with something going on with your stay here, please feel free to let our office staff know. We would like to do anything in our power to help you have a pleasurable experience in your own home. Some things are out of our power, but we're always looking to improve our service to you.

Thank you and have a wonderful day!

Your Sierra Vista staff :]

Keeping it healthy

The Importance of a Healthy Lifestyle

There is something that has become a focal point of interest now a days I would like to address, and that is keeping up with a healthy lifestyle.

We've all seen the transformations on social media websites. People that did the whole cross-fit challenge or Insanity workout and post those all too familiar before & afters. I'm sure at some point you have sat on Facebook stalking all of their photos and the next day decided to invest in a gym membership. If they can do it so can I!

"Health is not luck. We have an innate ability to maintain good health if we establish the optimal environment for healing."
Joel Fuhrman, MD

Did you know that 68% of all adults are overweight!? Since the 1950's the number of sedatory jobs has increased by almost 90%! This just means that we cannot rely on getting the proper physical activity needed while at work. We had to make an effort outside of work settings to be healthy and in shape.

Here's a few exercises that don't require a gym!

http://greatist.com/sites/default/files/styles/article_main/public/The-30-Minute-No-Gym-Bodyweight-Workout1_13.jpg?itok=VwkiiKyT

The hardest part is getting off the couch. I would always make the excuse to cancel my gym memberships because "I only go once a month if even & I'm wasting my money." Think about it though...if you have a $30 gym membership and went 2 x a week. That's only spending less than $2 a workout. How much do you spend at Whataburger weekly? Or even on lunches during your work week?

Cut out the bad foods & start bringing your lunches.

Workout instead of Whataburger.

If you do it. I'll do it.

Why not use two vintage coffee tables for a bookshelf?

Lets take this cool Biblioteca Bookshelf for example. The designer was inspired by cutting in half two vintage coffee tables and stacking them in his own home. You can find this lacquered bookcase at www.thefancy.com .

Fall is Here

Fall is here!

Fall Fashion Trends

http://feminspire.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/FallFashion21.jpg

This fall you will see some great and unique fashion trends. In the office world black and whites will take a chic new look with bold outfits that are both simple and stylish.

Patterns are in this season from polka dots to stripes if you want something simple to wear out in the daytime. Also use a simple bright solid handbag to add a little something extra to the outfit.

As we've seen lately hats are in! This style is dark and mysterious, while completely stylish!

There's more about styling trends here

Safety

Keeping yourself safe in your apartment

http://blog.apartmentsearch.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/apartment_safety.jpg

As an apartment community we all have to work together to keep each other safe. Before you go blaming someone around you for making you feel unsafe, think about the things you can do to improve your own safety.

Ask yourself these questions:

1. Do you have any unauthorized occupants living with you?
2. Do you lock your front & back door while you're sleeping/gone?
3. Do you check your backseat before driving somewhere?
4. When going to your car or dark places at night do you make sure to have someone with you?
5. When dealing with threatening people do you keep a phone around to call 911?

http://phillyflash.files.wordpress.com/2010/01/burgler-stripped-jumper.gif

If you have a neighbor or individual that is making you feel threatened or uncomfortable, CALL THE POLICE. It doesn't matter if you feel silly or don't want to cause problems...this can be serious. Your safety is the number one concern and nobody should feel uncomfortable in their own home.

Just a few tips on keeping yourself safe! We don't want anything happening to our wonderful residents :]

Welcome to our apartments blog!

Sierra Vista Apartments

We love our residents!

We decided to start a blog for our residents to keep up with what's going on in the office, give safety tips, and share lots of fun ideas and progress in the apartments with you!

Renovation progress...

We've been renovating the apartments to try and make life easier and more comfortable for you residents. Soon (hopefully by December) we will have renovated our office area adding a new fitness center and internet cafe!

This may cause slight inconveniences as we will be leasing and running the office out of the model apartment, but once we are through the community will be so much better! I don't know if you've been by the second pool yet...but if you have you will see the new pool furniture! We are so pleased with how this turned out and hope that you are as well.

Maintenance

We just wanted to thank all of you residents for being so patient with our maintenance in this transition time. We have been trying to play catch up from the take over with all of the maintenance requests that were left from the last management company. We are trying our best to get through all of those so that we can maintain a regular maintenance wait time on all work orders. I know that this has been inconvenient for all of you with small work orders, but I promise we will be getting this done as soon as possible.

National Night Out will be held in the front office on October 1, 2013
Hope to see you all there!

Keep up with what's going on in your apartment complex! Read our blog weekly for updates!

Thanks very much!!!
